The unconventional genesis of Sharon Rae Hyder's art career coincided with her parents' purchase of new blinds for their home. Instead of throwing away the old roll-up shades, Sharon got to use them for painting practice. She was overjoyed to have rolls and rolls of blank canvas to hone her young skills. After receiving encouraging feedback from an art correspondence talent test, Hyder began to pursue her interest in art more seriously. Eventually, she taught art at Volusia County Private School Systems and then at Wise Independent Private School, both in Daytona Beach. With degrees in Business, Accounting and Finance, Hyder runs a very successful accounting practice, but her love of the arts has always been a part of her life. She founded "The Artist's Loft Inc." where she taught beginner, intermediate and advanced classes. She has also designed and created set back drops for theatrical productions. "To teach my love of art to others is a heartwarming and rewarding effort, and to have my paintings, murals and sketches owned and loved by many throughout the years makes me very proud," states Hyder.
